Project Description:
Gheshlagh Dam was constructed to supply potable water for Sanandaj city, to supply water required for agricultural development of downstream lands, to regulate the river flow and to control river flood. It was put into operation in 1983. In recent years, significant local damages have occurred in ogee, chute and lateral walls of the spillway at an area of about ten thousand square meters. The project of the spillway rehabilitation has been defined by Regional Water Company of Kurdistan. The agenda of the rehabilitation is to investigate the causes of the demolition and to design a spillway repair plan.
