Project components:

• The main water conveyance canal to Dasht Abbas plain
• The Irrigation network of Abbas plain including northern and southern development units
• The water conveyance canal to Eynkhosh plain
• The water conveyance canal to Fake plain

Project Description:

This project includes northern and southern development units in Abbas plain,  and water conveyance canals to Eynkhosh and Fakeh plains, which are located in Ilam province. The water required for irrigation is supplied from Karkheh dam , which is conveyed by a 6 km long tunnel. Before the construction of the project, only 2692ha were under irrigation system. Whereas after the completion of the project, Irrigated lands will be increased to 52396 ha. This project has been financed by the facilities of the Islamic Development Bank.

Project Characteristics:

• The main canal is 15 km long and has a capacity of 80 cubic meters per second
• The water conveyance canal to Eynkhosh plain has a length of 15.32 km and a capacity of 7.8 cubic meters per second
• The water conveyance canal to Eynkhosh plain has a length of 19 km and a capacity of 14.6 cubic meters per second
• Pumping stations with a total capacity of 4.17 cubic meters per second
• Irrigation and drainage network of Abbas plain has an area of 19325 hectares
