Project Objectives:

The supply of irrigation water for 6000 ha of Gilan Gharb plains.

Project Description:

The primitive design comprised an earth fill dam with a height of 60 m and capacity of 28.5 mcm, two pumping stations and a pipeline with a length of 4.850 km with a diameter of 1400 mm. Each pumping station had 8 pumps with 65m head and a tank with a capacity of 11000 m3.

During construction works the project was faced with some gypsum lenses on the dam foundation and the reservoir bed. This problem caused the constructing operations to be suspended. The client then assigned Behan Sad to revise the design.
