The supply of irrigation water for 7000 ha of agricultural lands in Sonqor plain.

Project Description:

Songhor plain have a high quality of agricultural lands, but due to the lack of sustainable water resources, it is not possible to use its whole potential. In this regard, Gavehrood River was selected as a potential resource for irrigation of the plain and studies were carried out for the construction of a dam on the river.

Dam characteristics:

• Type: embankment dam with a clay core
• Height: 28.5 m
• Crest length: 109 m
• Reservoir capacity: 26 mcm
